CONSTRUCTION:

Worked four years in construction management to build wind farms, including two $300M sites in Michigan and Missouri. Served as owner’s rep, directing contractors and subs. Responsibilities included construction planning and execution of laydown yard, cable trenching, substations, T-lines, access roads, and wind turbines. At peak times, was responsible for 100 to 300 workers across 10+mile construction sites.

 

MILITARY

Retired U.S. Air Force Reserve; served as a flight engineer for 18 years on C9-A Nightingale fleet and three years on C9-C Presidential Support squadron. Senior Health and Safety Manager, U.S. Region, 2013 to 2015
Leads environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs for all wind and solar operations in the U.S., including 45 wind farms in 10 states that provides 1,400MW. Responsible for consistent implementation of corporate safety policies across varying work environments to build and sustain Exelon’s commitment to safety.
 
·         Analyze operations and implement state and federal safety policies to ensure wind and solar farm activities are in compliance, and to foster a strong safety culture at all Exelon facilities.
·         Conduct safety audits and enforce Exelon’s safety policies, including review of site orientation, emergency response plan, spill prevention plan, documentation and communication plans.

·               Investigate all safety incidents, conduct root cause analysis and provide appropriate reporting.

Managed on-site health and safety programs for the construction of the 40MW High Mesa wind farm in Bliss, Idaho, and a 27MW Wildcat wind farm in Hobbs, New Mexico. Completed construction of both farms on-time and with zero OSHA-recordable incidents.
 

·               Led safety program covering all employees, contractors, subcontractors, visitors and the local community from groundbreaking to COD.

Key member of the construction team to build Lost Creek Wind Farm, a $350M, 150 MW 2.1 site in King City, MO, ahead of schedule and under budget. Directed all field safety programs.  Led wind farm civil and electrical work, and conducted construction follow-up review. Conducted environmental and SWPP audits and SPCC program.

 

2008 to 2009: BP Wind, Houston, TX (based in Stephenville, TX)

Served in leadership role to complete construction and commission a $100M, 60 MW Silver Star wind farm in Stephenville, TX. Managed crew of 100+ contractors and subcontractors during construction and commissioning. Directed daily farm operations, ensuring safety practices and troubleshooting issues.

 

2007 to 2008: NextEra, Wind Division, Juno Beach, FL (based in Atlanta, GA)

Southwest Regional Team Leader, Central Maintenance
Directed central maintenance program to ensure safe and profitable wind farm operations of 550MW in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas and California. Led wind technician teams to provide service on-time, on-budget and without environmental or OSHA-recordable safety incidents.
